Over labor day weekend Ari and I went to Sarasota, Florida. We had wanted to make a trip to visit Ari’s grandparents, and decided to tie it in with our one year wedding anniversary! And let me tell you it was the perfect little getaway!
His grandparents live in a golf community, so Ari was loving life. He was able to sneak out on the golf course after dinner and play a couple of holes. On the mornings when Ari went golfing with his grandfather, I either relaxed at the pool, or spent the day with his grandmother. We even went through model homes, which is probably my favorite thing to do! I mean who doesn’t like walking through gorgeous, perfectly decorated dream homes?!
Ari and I spent almost every day at Siesta beach and I was amazed at how flat the golf was! We had heard about this place called point of rocks where we wanted to snorkel. It took us three attempts but we finally got there! It was pretty neat and there were definitely a lot of fish! I was however spoiled as a child with our coral reef snorkeling trips that this wasn’t too spectacular, but nonetheless I got to teach Ari how to snorkel!
Luckily Ari and I made it out right before hurricane Irma hit! We tried to convince his grandparent to fly back to Charlotte with us, but we had no such luck. They wanted us to be a nervous wreck instead 😉 Thankfully they were safe!
My prayers continue to go out to all the families that weren’t so lucky!!
Continue to pray for all those affected!
